Transport Fleet Supervisor

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Transport & Fleet Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration or with related field of study

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years experience in fleet operations, with at least 2 years dedicated to transport plc companies

• Quantity Required: 1

• Salary: Based on company's scale & negotiable.

• Place of work: Addis Ababa (Kality in front of former Kork & Tin Factory/Midroc Construction Terminal)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage daily cross-border vehicle scheduling, load allocation, and convoy movements.

• Coordinate transit routes, fuel allocation, and driver allowances for regional journeys.

• Track vehicles via GPS/telematics in real time to resolve transit delays, breakdowns, or border choke-points

• Ensure drivers carry complete border documentation permits, bill of lading, single administrative documents, transit bonds, and customs clearances).

• Interface with customs officials, clearing agents, and port authorities to facilitate fast border crossings.

• Supervise long-distance drivers, ensuring adherence to rest-hour regulations and speed limits.

• Handle emergency responses for cross-border incidents, accidents, security threats, or impoundments.

• Conduct pre-trip briefs and post-trip debriefs covering safety, cargo security, and fuel management.

• Inspect trucks, trailers, and sealing mechanisms prior to departure to prevent cargo tampering or shrinkage.

• Coordinate preventative maintenance and cross-border breakdown recovery with external mechanics and foreign repair vendors.
