 Position: Transit Operations Officer

Duty Station: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Employment Type: Full-time

Required Experience: Minimum 3 years

 Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and well-organized Transit Operations Officer to coordinate shipment movements, monitor cargo transportation, and ensure the timely and efficient delivery of imported vehicles and commercial goods.

 Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transit, shipment, and logistics activities.

• Monitor cargo movement from port or dry port to the final destination.

• Coordinate with shipping lines, transporters, customs-clearing personnel, and other stakeholders.

• Follow up on truck allocation, loading, transportation, and delivery schedules.

• Track shipment progress and provide timely updates to management.

• Monitor delivery schedules and help minimize delays and additional transportation costs.

• Maintain accurate shipment records, delivery documents, and operational reports.

• Coordinate closely with the customs-clearing team to ensure smooth shipment processing.

Job Requirements

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Transport Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in transit, logistics, freight forwarding, or transport operations.

• Good understanding of import shipment procedures and transportation coordination.

• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant computer applications.

• Experience in vehicle imports and commercial cargo handling is an advantage.
