JOB DESCRIPTION
HH Consulting Architects and Engineers PLC is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Structural Designer to prepare structural designs, calculations, drawings, and technical documentation for building projects. The position works closely with architects, engineers, and other project professionals to deliver safe, practical, economical, and code-compliant structural solutions.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Prepare structural designs and engineering calculations for building projects.
• Develop detailed structural drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or relevant design software.
• Design foundations, columns, beams, slabs, walls, and other structural systems.
• Analyze structural loads and ensure designs meet applicable safety and building-code requirements.
• Coordinate structural designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, and other disciplines.
• Review drawings, identify conflicts, and provide practical technical solutions.
• Assist with BOQs, specifications, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Conduct site visits and provide technical support during construction when required.
• Review shop drawings and construction documents for compliance with approved designs.
• Maintain accurate project records and complete assigned work within deadlines
Requirements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATION
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of relevant experience in structural design and engineering.
- Practical experience in building structural design and preparation of structural drawings.
Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and working knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, SAP2000, Revit Structure, or similar software.
- Strong understanding of structural analysis, reinforced concrete, and steel design.
- Knowledge of applicable Ethiopian building codes and engineering standards.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, communication, and teamwork.
