Job Description
Under general supervision, the Storekeeper is responsible for receiving, inspecting, storing, ordering, and issuing spare parts and other inventory items. Maintains accurate records of all received and issued items, ensures proper inventory control, and safeguards stocked items against loss, damage, or deterioration. The Storekeeper also supports efficient warehouse operations by maintaining organized storage, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect, record, store, and issue spare parts in accordance with company rules, regulations, and established procedures.
- Maintain proper custody and accountability of all stocked items under the Storekeeper’s responsibility.
- Optimize warehouse and storage space to minimize material handling costs and prevent damage to inventory.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and ensure accurate inventory records for all stock items.
- Ensure all required documents are properly completed and signed before issuing or handing over spare parts to technicians.
- Ensure full compliance with company inventory policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Report undelivered, damaged, short-landed, or otherwise discrepant items promptly.
- Implement approved stock classification, shelving, labeling, and inventory recording systems.
- Maintain appropriate safety, security, and housekeeping standards to protect inventory and personnel.
- Prepare reports and documentation for inventory adjustments, stock discrepancies, spoilage, and damaged items.
- Identify and segregate redundant, obsolete, and dead stock, and prepare reports on slow-moving items and stock-level movements.
- Conduct periodic physical stocktaking and reconcile physical inventory with system records.
- Implement and maintain an effective location coding system to improve store operations and inventory accessibility.
- Monitor stock levels and initiate purchase requests for fast-moving items before inventory reaches the minimum stock level; follow up on pending requests.
- Respond efficiently to requests for spare parts and other inventory items.
Requirements
Education
- Higher Diploma or Level III certificate in Automotive.
Experience
- Four+ years in Storekeeper job position.
- Previous experience working in dealerships with world-class brands is an advantage.
Skills
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Understanding of workshop tools, equipment’s and also knowledge of vehicle oil and lubricants.
