1. Job Purpose

The Senior Software Developer is responsible for designing, developing,

testing, deploying, and maintaining high-quality software applications

and systems. The position provides technical leadership to development

teams, solves complex technical problems, reviews code, and ensures that

software solutions meet business and technical requirements.

1. Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain scalable software applications.

Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into effective software solutions.

Develop clean, maintainable, secure, and reusable code.

Lead the implementation of complex software features and modules.

Review source code and ensure compliance with development standards and best practices.

Conduct code reviews and provide constructive technical feedback to developers.

Identify and resolve complex software bugs, performance issues, and technical problems.

Design and maintain APIs, databases, integrations, and backend/frontend components as required.

Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, QA Engineers, UI/UX Designers, and other stakeholders.

Participate in system architecture and technical design discussions.

Support estimation, sprint planning, backlog refinement, and technical task prioritization.

Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level developers.

Ensure application security, performance, scalability, and reliability.

Develop and maintain automated tests where applicable.

Participate in deployment, release management, and production support.

Monitor application performance and recommend improvements.

Maintain technical documentation, architecture documentation, and development standards.

Research and evaluate new technologies, tools, and frameworks that can

improve development efficiency.

Support troubleshooting of production issues and provide timely resolutions.

Ensure development activities are aligned with organizational policies,

project requirements, and quality standards.

Perform other related duties assigned by the Tech Lead or Head of Technology.

1. Authority and Accountability

The Senior Software Developer is accountable for the technical quality,

reliability, maintainability, and timely delivery of assigned software

solutions. The position is also responsible for providing technical

guidance to other developers and escalating major technical risks or issues to the Tech Lead.

1. Working Conditions

This is a full-time position based at Goro ICT, Addis Ababa. The

employee may occasionally be required to work beyond normal working

hours to support critical deployments, production incidents, or urgent project requirements.
