 Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry S.C. previously known as Kadisco Chemical Industry PLC is a privately owned company located in Addis Ababa in the Akaki Kality Industrial Zone area. Kadisco is a company that traces its origins back from a small automotive parts dealership that was operating in one of the busy streets of Addis Ababa back in late 60’s. During the period until 1975 it had the opportunity to act as the sole distributor for Sadoline Paints. In 1979 it was registered as the sole company to manufacture adhesives and glue. By stages, the company developed into a diversified paint manufacturer. 

In February 2015, Asian Paints Ltd and Kadisco Paint and Adhesive Industry SC formed a joint venture for business in Ethiopia and came to be known as Kadisco Asian paints. Asian Paints is India’s leading paint company and Asia’s second largest, with a group turnover of USD 2.7 billion. The group has an enviable reputation in the corporate world for professionalism, fast track growth, and building shareholder equity. Asian Paints operates in 19 countries and has 26 paint manufacturing facilities in the world servicing consumers in over 65 countries.  

Today the company produces a full range of paints for the construction, industrial and automotive sectors. It also produces wood and concrete lacquers as well as adhesives for the wood and leather industry. 

 Job Purpose/Job Roles/Summary/  

The Senior Executive - Standardization position involves conducting Design of Experiments in consultation with the Technology function, Pilot Engineering Lab batches, and organizing meetings to introduce new products, formulations, and standardize them on the shop floor. The role includes leadership in controlling non-conforming products within the plant and providing guidance on BOM-related activities for production. Additionally, the Senior Executive - Standardization supports the improvement of Quality Rate Index (QRI) and Price of Non-Conformance (PONC), while proactively addressing non-conformances by implementing effective AWD and process controls. To coordinate QC, QA, R&D, Production , Store & SC team at KPAI


Primary Responsibilities

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

Key Performance Indicators

  • Collaborate with Operations Managers & QA manager to ensure the fulfillment of plant quality commitments.
  • Standardize new products and formulations on the shop floor, focusing on improving the Quality Rate Index (QRI).
  • Control and monitor AWD (Acceptance with Deviation) and address non-conformances during the production process. Calculate the Price of Non-Conformance (PONC).
  • Conduct PCPA as per frequency & timely close
  • Customers complaints monitoring with RCA & CAPA  implementation
  • Monitor Process and Product Quality Plans, conduct rejection and rework analysis to achieve a close-to-zero defects target.
  • Support the implementation of Integrated Management System (IMS) in coordination with the SC department across multiple plants.
  • Coordinate with the Central Quality Support group to conduct internal and external quality audits and ensure timely closure of non-conformities with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective coordination with the technical function, plant production, and plant engineering to facilitate the smooth implementation of new product introductions.
  • Design and implement new processes and products, as well as troubleshoot issues related to existing and new products.
  • Participate in cross-functional plant teams focused on quality improvement initiatives.
  • Set goals, conduct performance reviews, and manage the performance of direct and indirect reports.
  • Support to concern department for sustainable QMS and OH&S Management System (ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018)
  • Complying with EHS related local statutory and Asian Paints group requirements.
  • Conducting safety training & achieving TRFR and TSR Targets.
  • Coordinating safety campaigns and activities to meet Health and Safety targets
  • Raising awareness among the subordinates about safety, 5S, PPE use, hygiene, proper housekeeping etc. & its good effects.
  • Generating regular incidents reports, Hygiene reports, Proactive Reports & near miss reports etc.
  • Quality & Safety Kaizen drive, In process quality improvement scope assessment, SOP – FMEA preparation and validation.
  • Monitor Process and Product Quality Plans, conduct rejection and rework analysis to achieve a close-to-zero defects target.
  • Regular visit to the shop floor, packing floor & sharing important findings with superiors, colleagues & subordinates. Stability Check in retain sample share the report monthly basis. & Maintaining proper documentation of retain sample & storage system.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Quality Manager and other managers.

Maintaining QRI Promise & Regular RM PM & FG inspection, product improvement, product-analysis, FPY recording, PONC Calculation, Lab & others equipment Calibration by internal and External Vendor.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in chemical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry or a related field.
  • Industry such as Paint, Chemical, Pharma, FMCG, or Automobiles.
  • Certified Quality Engineer.
  • QMS Auditor certification.
  • Domain knowledge in manufacturing processes, specifically in the Paint or Chemical industry.

Previous Experience

  • 2-5 years of experience as an executive in the manufacturing process

Functional Competencies

  • To be competent in people management
  • Good analytical skills

Behavioral Competencies

  • Should be able to work under pressure with multi-tasking capabilities.
