Job Title: Senior Executive - EHS

Job Summary

The Senior Executive - EHS is responsible for implementing and monitoring the Company's Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and Company requirements. The role focuses on promoting a safe working environment, environmental sustainability, occupational health, risk management, employee awareness, and the continuous improvement of EHS systems and practices.

 

Main Job Responsibilities

  1. EHS Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable occupational health, safety, and environmental laws, regulations, and Company policies.
  • Monitor compliance with Asian Paints EHS requirements and local statutory obligations.
  • Conduct EHS risk assessments and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate the renewal of EHS-related permits, licenses, and certifications.
  • Ensure implementation and compliance with the Environmental Management Plan (EMP).
  1. Health and Safety Management
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections, audits, and hazard assessments.
  • Investigate occupational accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and recommend corrective actions.
  • Conduct safety induction and awareness training programs for employees.
  • Organize toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and employee awareness programs.
  • Provide First Aid and emergency response training.
  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization.
  • Track and report EHS performance indicators, including TRFR and TSR.
  1. Environmental Management
  • Monitor environmental performance indicators, including waste generation, waste disposal, emissions, water consumption, and energy utilization.
  • Ensure waste is disposed of in compliance with legal and environmental requirements.
  • Monitor the operation of the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Promote environmental awareness and sustainable practices among employees.
  • Support initiatives related to carbon footprint reduction and environmental sustainability.
  1. ISO and Management Systems
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of:
    • ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System
    • ISO 45001:2018 Occupational Health & Safety Management System
    • ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
  • Maintain EHS-related documentation and records.
  • Participate in internal and external audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Recommend and monitor corrective and preventive actions arising from audits.
  1. EHS Reporting and Documentation
  • Prepare and submit periodic EHS reports.
  • Maintain records of:
    • Incidents and accidents
    • Safety inspections and audits
    • Safety training activities
    • Environmental monitoring
    • Legal compliance requirements
    • Waste management and disposal activities
  • Track compliance status and report non-conformities.
  1. Workplace Health and Welfare
  • Promote workplace hygiene, health, and wellness initiatives.
  • Support occupational health programs and employee wellbeing activities.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness and response plans are established and maintained.
  • Collaborate with management to continuously improve health, safety, and environmental performance.

 Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Public Health, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.

 

Requirements

Experience

  • 4-6 years of relevant EHS experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the paint, chemical, FMCG, or related manufacturing industry is preferred.
