Job Summary

A Senior Accountant oversees complex accounting activities, financial reporting, and compliance to ensure the accuracy and integrity of an organization’s financial records. They perform advanced ledger reconciliation, month-end and year-end closing processes, financial analysis, and tax preparation, while often supervising junior accounting staff and assisting management with strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities (Job Description)

• Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with GAAP or IFRS.

• Oversee general ledger maintenance, journal entries, and month-end/year-end closing procedures.

• Reconcile complex balance sheet accounts, bank statements, and intercompany transactions.

• Analyze financial data, revenue trends, and budget variances to advise management on business decisions.

• Assist in budget preparation, forecasting, and cash flow analysis.

• Coordinate internal and external audit processes, serving as the main point of contact for auditors.

• Assist with tax filing, regulatory compliance, and ensure adherence to local and international financial laws.

• Review work, guide, and mentor junior accountants and accounting clerks.

• Evaluate accounting workflows and implement internal controls to improve accuracy and efficiency.

1. Education & Professional Credentials

• Degree: MA/Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance,

2. Experience

• Level: 4/6 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance (including experience at a mid-level or public accounting firm).

• In-depth understanding of accounting principles (GAAP/IFRS) and tax laws.

3. Skills & Competencies

• Technical & Software:

• Advanced proficiency in accounting ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Peachtree,  Microsoft Dynamics).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (financial modeling).

• Analytical & Attention to Detail: Strong analytical thinking to identify discrepancies, trends, and financial risks.
