Senior Accountant

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and analytical Senior Accountant to oversee our financial operations, lead financial reporting, ensure strict tax regulatory compliance, and manage external audit readiness. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical skills, advanced accounting knowledge, and a track record of supervising finance personnel and complex reconciliations.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or with related field of study

• Experience: 4 to 6 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years operating in a senior role.

• Quantity Required: 1

• Salary: Negotiable

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manage and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes, maintaining general ledger integrity and trial balance accuracy.

• Prepare full financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement)

• Perform and review complex reconciliations, including high-volume sales entries, bank accounts, and corporate e-money accounts.

• Ensure total tax compliance by preparing and filing monthly/annual tax declarations (VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax, and Corporate Income Tax) through official portals.

• Coordinate internal and external audit processes, acting as the primary liaison for auditors and regulatory inspectors.

• Analyze financial data, monitor cash flow projections, perform budget vs. actual variance analysis, and present key financial insights to management.

• Supervise, guide, and review the daily work and financial postings of junior accounting staff.

Skills & Competencies

• Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in MS Excel (data modeling, complex formulas) and accounting software (Peachtree).

• Regulatory Knowledge: Deep, local Ethiopian tax laws, reporting standards, and auditing procedures.

• Key Attributes: Strong leadership, analytical problem-solving skills, exceptional accuracy, and high ethical standards.
