Job Summary
Infonans Solution PLC is looking for a highly analytical, detail-oriented, and experienced Senior Accountant to oversee our financial operations, ensure strict tax and legal compliance, and support strategic financial management. The ideal candidate will take full ownership of general ledger management, financial reporting, tax filings, payroll, and internal controls to maintain the financial health of our organization.
Key Responsibilities & Main Duties
Financial Reporting & General Ledger Management
- Maintain and reconcile all financial transactions, general ledgers, and account balances in accordance with IFRS and local standards.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations, vendor balance reconciliations, and customer receivables tracking.
Tax Compliance & Government Relations
- Ensure complete compliance with Ethiopian tax laws, rules, and reporting deadlines.
- Accurately calculate, declare, and file all applicable taxes on time (VAT, Withholding Tax, Employee Income Tax, Pension, Business Profit Tax).
- Serve as the main point of contact for tax audits and liaise with the Ministry of Revenue and other regulatory bodies.
Treasury, Cash Flow & Payroll
- Manage cash flow projections, monitor accounts payable/receivable, and ensure timely collections and vendor payments.
- Process monthly payroll calculations, statutory deductions, and disbursement of staff salaries.
- Manage petty cash operations and perform regular surprise cash counts.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Establish, enforce, and maintain robust internal accounting controls and financial policies.
- Prepare all necessary schedules, documentation, and workpapers for internal and external annual audits.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and recommend cost-saving strategies.
Requirements
Job Specifications & Requirements
Education & Certifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in Accounting, Finance, or Accounting & Finance from a recognized university.
- Professional Certification: ACCA / CPA student or completion (preferred/an advantage).
Work Experience:
- Minimum of 5+ years of direct accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a Senior Accountant capacity.
- Proven experience in handling tax filings, financial statements, and external audit processes in Ethiopia.
Technical & Professional Skills:
- Software Proficiency: Advanced skills in accounting software (e.g., Peachtree Accounting, QuickBooks, or ERP systems like Odoo/SAP).
- Office Tools: Expert command of MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, advanced formulas) and MS Office suite.
- Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth, up-to-date knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, commercial law, and IFRS / IFRS for SMEs.
- Language: Excellent written and spoken communication skills in both Amharic and English.
