Purchaser

Purpose of the Role

The Purchaser is responsible for procuring medical supplies, medications, equipment, and other materialsfor the smooth operation of the Medical Center, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Identify purchasing needs across departments (pharmacy, lab, OPD, dialysis, etc.) and process purchase requests

• Collect and compare price quotations (proforma invoices) from suppliers

• Prepare bid analysis / comparison documents and submit for approval

• Place orders with approved suppliers and follow up on delivery timelines

• Verify received goods against purchase orders (quantity, quality, specifications)

• Maintain accurate procurement records, receipts, and supplier documentation

• Coordinate with the finance department for payment processing

• Build and maintain relationships with reliable suppliers and vendors

• Ensure compliance with the organization's procurement policies and procedures

• Report on procurement status, pending orders, and supply needs to management

• Perform other related duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Purchasing & Supply Management, Business Administration, Management, or related field

• Minimum expereince 2 year

Required Skills & Attributes

• Strong negotiation and communication skills

• Honesty, integrity, and attention to detail

• Good organizational and record-keeping skills

• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel)

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines

• Knowledge of local suppliers/market is an advantage
