Project Architect

About the role

Sunshine Business PLC is seeking a qualified, creative, and detail-oriented Project Architect to join our dynamic team for the ongoing expansion of the prestigious Marriott Executive Apartments located at Bole Medhanialem, Addis Ababa. The ideal candidate will be responsible for producing architectural drawings, overseeing site quality execution, and driving technical alignment across engineering and construction disciplines.

Job Requirements

• Education: Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or with related field of study

• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years and above of relevant hands-on working experience as an Architect (experience in commercial/hospitality projects is an advantage).

• Quantity Required: 1

• Salary: Negotiable

Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive architectural working drawings, floor plans, blueprints, and construction documents in full compliance with project specifications.

• Manage project technical specifications and make necessary blueprint corrections/modifications to address site execution challenges.

• Coordinate actively with structural engineers, interior designers, MEP consultants, and general contractors across all project execution phases.

• Attend routine construction site meetings and conduct visual progress reviews to ensure ongoing work precisely matches approved design plans.

Skills & Competencies

• Technical Knowledge: Solid practical understanding of building materials, architectural construction detailing, local building regulations, quality standards, and statutory codes.

• Software Proficiency: Exceptional skill in standard architectural design and rendering software (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max/VIZ, Revit) and graphic tools such as Adobe Photoshop.

• Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing previous technical working drawings, 3D renderings, and completed architectural projects is required.

• Core Competencies: High creativity with strong 3D spatial visualization capabilities, keen visual awareness, meticulous eye for detail, excellent communication, and strong project coordination skills.
