Job Summary:
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the ready-mix concrete production process, ensuring efficient operations, consistent product quality, and timely delivery to customers. This includes managing plant staff, coordinating with logistics and quality control teams, ensuring preventive maintenance, and implementing health and safety standards. The role plays a critical part in maintaining production targets, optimizing resources, and achieving customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily production of ready-mix concrete to meet demand and delivery schedules.
- Manage and supervise batching plant operations and personnel, including batching operators, plant technicians, and support staff.
- Ensure the consistent quality of concrete mixes by coordinating with the quality control department.
- Monitor plant performance and productivity, analyzing KPIs to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Oversee raw material inventory levels and coordinate with procurement for timely replenishment.
- Ensure all equipment is well-maintained and downtime is minimized through preventive maintenance planning.
- Enforce strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Troubleshoot production problems and implement corrective actions to avoid delays or quality issues.
- Work closely with logistics, sales, and technical departments to coordinate order fulfillment and resolve customer issues.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on production output, efficiency, maintenance, and workforce performance.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives, cost control, and plant optimization strategies. Qualifications and Skills:
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in ready-mix concrete production or construction materials manufacturing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Strong knowledge of concrete batching processes, mix designs, raw materials, and quality standards.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Familiarity with plant automation systems, concrete testing procedures, and production software.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate across departments.
- Knowledge of industry safety regulations and best practices.
Work Environment:
- Primarily based at the batching plant with regular site visits.
- Exposure to dust, heavy machinery, noise, and outdoor conditions.
- Use of PPE and adherence to safety protocols is mandatory.
