Green Scene Energy PLC is a leading, women-led clean energy company based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We specialize in solar EPC projects and run our own TOLO manufacturing line. We are dedicated to delivering sustainable, high-quality renewable energy solutions across the country.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Procurement & Imports Officer to fully own our end-to-end import pipeline. You will manage the entire supply chain process, from initial supplier orders to final warehouse receipt. The ideal candidate has deep, hands-on experience navigating Ethiopian customs, logistics, and international supplier coordination.
Key Responsibilities
End-to-End Import Management
- Supplier Coordination: Place international orders and conduct rigorous follow-ups.
- China Consolidation: Coordinate with freight forwarders for efficient cargo consolidation in China.
- Logistics & Shipping: Manage freight bookings, track shipments, and optimize transit times.
- Customs Clearance: Handle all Single Window declarations and clear customs efficiently.
- Warehouse Delivery: Oversee the safe transport and receipt of goods into our store.
Procurement & Project Support
- EPC Sourcing: Procure specialized materials for solar Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.
- Manufacturing Supply: Ensure a steady flow of raw materials for the TOLO manufacturing line.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain and build strong relationships with international and local suppliers.
- Cost Management: Negotiate favorable shipping rates and minimize demurrage or storage fees.
Requirements
Job Requirements
Experience & Education
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on import documentation and logistics experience in Ethiopia.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Hard Skills
- System Proficiency: Deep operational knowledge of the Ethiopian Single Window system.
- Documentation: Expert-level mastery of L/C, CAD, commercial invoices, packing lists, and Bills of Lading.
- Technical Familiarity: Prior experience importing electronic components, solar equipment, or manufacturing raw materials is highly preferred.
Soft Skills
- Problem Solving: Ability to navigate bureaucratic delays and logistics bottlenecks independently.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Amharic.
- Detail-Oriented: High accuracy in verifying shipping documents to prevent customs penalties.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: ETB 30,000 – 40,000 gross per month (negotiable based on depth of experience).
