Position:  Physiotherapist

Required No. 4 (Two full time) and (Two Part time)                                      

Salary:     Based on Scale

Terms of Employment:    2 years renewable contract for full time

Post Immediate Supervisor:  Senior Physiotherapist

Job Summary: Under the supervision of a Senior Physiotherapist applies physiotherapeutic treatments to patients in treating and preventing medical/surgical/neurological and circulatory conditions as prescribed by the Medical Officer or Specialist.

Description of Duties:

1. Carry out and appropriate physical examination of the patient, referred by a medical officer or specialist.

1. Design a problem oriented treatment plan.

1. Carry out treatment of patients / clients valuate and adjust the treatment plan when it is necessary.

1. Participate on evaluation of treatment outcomes.

1. Discuss the patient’s / client condition with other medical personnel confidentially and in the patient interest and permission.

1. Apply massage and other body manipulations.

1. Apply and instruct passive/active remedial exercises and instruct on the use of prosthetic/orthotic appliances.

1. Provide pre and post physiotherapy services for assistive technology users and instruct on basic hygiene and safe use of devices.

1. Perform conservative corrections with POP for orthopaedic/neurological pathology.

1. Utilize mechanical devices and exercising equipment.

1.  Apply electro therapy (sound wave, electromagnetic, radiation, electrical current and etc..).

1. Apply heat and cold therapy

1. Assist his/her supervisor in making appointments with patients and in the administration of the physiotherapy clinic /rehabilitation unit.

1. Report the action and the treatment carried out on the patient to the referring medical officer in a meaningful way.

1. Ensure the proper handling of equipment and the general set up of the section.

1. Report any faults of equipment or appliances to his/her immediate supervisor for radial repair.

1. Be involved in the coaching of rehabilitation workers and other professional.

1. Participate in the preparation of annual plan of the clinic or the unit.

1. Submit monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual activity report to immediate supervisor. 

1. Carry out any other related duties when ordered by his/her supervisor.
