Operations Manager
Virtual Equb PLC is looking for a highly capable, results-oriented, and commercially minded Operations Manager to provide strategic leadership and ensure effective execution of the company's business operations.
Position: Operations Manager
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary
The Operations Manager will serve as a key member of the company's management team and will be responsible for leading and coordinating the Marketing, Finance, and Project Departments to ensure successful implementation and accomplishment of Virtual Equb PLC's 2026 Annual Business Plan.
The position will translate the company's strategic objectives into practical departmental plans, measurable KPIs, budgets, timelines, and deliverables, while ensuring strong coordination, accountability, and performance across departments.
The successful candidate will also contribute to the company's growth by applying strong knowledge of HR and people management, digital marketing, financial management, project management, legal/compliance matters, and the FinTech environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the Marketing, Finance, and Project Departments to achieve the company's 2026 strategic objectives and annual targets.
- Translate the 2026 Annual Business Plan into departmental work plans, KPIs, budgets, timelines, and measurable deliverables.
- Monitor departmental performance against annual and monthly targets and ensure timely corrective action.
- Lead and guide the Marketing Department in achieving customer acquisition, activation, retention, engagement, revenue growth, and market expansion targets.
- Provide strategic oversight to Finance, including budgeting, financial performance, cash flow, cost control, financial reporting, and financial accountability.
- Ensure strategic projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to approved scope and quality standards.
- Coordinate resources across departments to ensure effective execution of the annual plan.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with department heads and promote a strong results-based performance culture.
- Identify operational, financial, human-resource, project, legal, and business risks and ensure appropriate mitigation.
- Work closely with Technology, Customer Support, Recovery/Collections, and other functions to ensure integrated business operations.
- Provide management with regular reports on progress against the 2026 Annual Business Plan and recommend corrective or strategic interventions where required.
- Support business growth, process improvement, digitalization, and operational efficiency.
- Ensure that business activities are conducted in accordance with applicable company policies, legal requirements, and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
Required Knowledge & Competencies

Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Economics, Law, IT, or a related field.
- MBA, Master's degree, or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 3 years in a management or senior supervisory role.
- Proven experience leading multiple departments or cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience in two or more of operations, finance, marketing, HR, project management, legal/compliance, or FinTech.
- Experience in FinTech, banking, mobile money, digital payments, financial services, technology companies, or digital platforms is highly preferred.
