Job Summary

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Media Monitoring Officer to monitor, analyze, and report on media coverage related to the organization, its industry, competitors, products, and relevant public issues. The successful candidate will track information across television, radio, newspapers, websites, and social media platforms and provide timely insights to management.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily media coverage across TV, radio, newspapers, websites, and social media platforms.

• Track mentions of the company, products, services, management, and key stakeholders.

• Identify relevant news, trends, public opinions, and emerging issues.

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly media monitoring reports.

• Analyze media coverage and identify positive, negative, and neutral publicity.

• Monitor competitors and industry-related media activities.

• Maintain an organized database of media coverage, publications, and reports.

• Provide timely alerts on important or sensitive media issues.

• Collect and summarize relevant news and media content for management.

• Support the communication and PR team with media-related information and analysis.

• Monitor social media discussions and identify emerging reputational risks.

• Perform other media monitoring and communication-related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Media Studies, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in media monitoring, journalism, communications, PR, media research, or a related position.

• Good knowledge of Ethiopian media outlets and the local media environment.

• Strong ability to analyze and summarize information accurately.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Good computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office applications.

• Ability to monitor multiple information sources and work with tight deadlines

• Strong attention to detail and confidentiality.

• Good organizational and reporting skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
