Job Description

Position 1 —Marketing Manager — Marketing & Sales
Duty station: Ayat, Addis Ababa (with regional travel) · Employment: Permanent, full time · Experience: 3–5 years Reports to: Senior Marketing and Sales manager
Purpose of the role
To drive ZE-EL’s revenue growth by owning a sales territory and product portfolio end-to-end: building the pipeline, growing key accounts, executing launches and promotions, and opening new markets — with ambitious targets and real authority to pursue them.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute the marketing and sales plan for the assigned territory and portfolio, with monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
- Build and manage a named-account sales pipeline across hospitals, clinics, pharmacies, wholesalers and institutional buyers; conduct regular field visits.
- Grow and defend key accounts: account plans, credit follow-up, service promises, complaint resolution and after-sales care.
- Plan and execute product launches — pricing, stock coordination, training, promotional materials, prescriber engagement (CMEs, presentations, KOL relationships).
- Identify and open new regions, channels and partners; support market studies and competitor intelligence.
- Work hand-in-hand with the Tender Manager on institutional opportunities and with Logistics on delivery promises.
- Report sales performance, pipeline status and market feedback to management every month with honest numbers.
Requirements
Qualifications & experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or another healthcare qualification (Pharmacist, Druggist, Nursing, Public Health, Medical Laboratory or related). A marketing/business qualification on top is an advantage.
- 3–5 years of proven marketing and sales experience of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies or healthcare commodities, with a verifiable record of targets achieved.
- Valid driving licence is an advantage.
Personal profile
- A go-getter — driven, self-initiating, energetic and target-hungry; comfortable owning big numbers and accountable for them.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills in Amharic and English; presentable and professional with customers at every level.
