Job Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator / Supervisor oversees the day-to-day logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution. They ensure that shipments are delivered on time and cost-effectively while maintaining compliance with industry regulations. This role requires strong coordination skills to manage suppliers, carriers, warehouse staff, and customers effectively.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and coordinate shipments, ensuring timely pickup and delivery.
- Monitor transportation costs and optimize routes to reduce expenses.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers and carriers.
- Ensure compliance with local and international shipping regulations.
- Track shipments and resolve delivery issues or delays.
- Oversee warehouse operations, including receiving, storage, and dispatching.
- Ensure accurate inventory records and conduct regular stock audits.
- Optimize warehouse space and improve storage efficiency.
- Implement safety procedures and ensure compliance with workplace regulations.
- Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely procurement and deliveries.
- Negotiate contracts and rates with transport providers and suppliers.
- Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, invoices, and inventory.
- Ensure all shipping documentation (e.g., bill of lading, customs clearance) is complete and correct.
- Stay updated on logistics regulations and compliance requirements.
- Address customer inquiries and provide updates on delivery schedules.
- Resolve logistics-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with internal teams (procurement, sales, finance) for smooth operations.
- Analyze logistics data and generate performance reports.
- Identify bottlenecks and recommend process improvements.
- Implement cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements.

Requirements
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or related field.
- A professional certification in logistics (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional - CSCP, Certified in Logistics, Transportation, and Distribution - Cal)) is a plus.
Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management. Experience in coordinating shipments, warehouse operations, and inventory management. Familiarity with logistics software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.
Skills and Attributes:
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

- Knowledge of international and local transportation regulations.
