Job Description
Job Summary
This company is looking for a Junior Internal Auditor to support the Internal Audit team in evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, operational processes, financial reporting, and compliance with company policies.
The role provides an opportunity to gain practical exposure to manufacturing operations, inventory management, procurement, production processes, finance, and statutory compliance within a steel manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in conducting operational, financial, and compliance audits across various departments.
- Support audit planning, execution, documentation, and reporting activities.
- Verify adherence to company policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and internal control systems.
- Review financial records, inventory transactions, procurement activities, and operational documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Perform audit testing and prepare properly documented working papers.
- Identify control weaknesses, process gaps, and potential business risks.
- Assist in verifying inventory, fixed assets, raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods.
- Participate in physical stock verification and plant audits as scheduled.
- Monitor the implementation of audit recommendations and corrective actions.
- Coordinate with department heads to obtain audit evidence and required documentation.
- Prepare audit observations, reports, and management presentations.
- Maintain confidentiality of audit information and professional ethics.
- Support special investigations and management-assigned audit projects.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Professional qualifications such as CA Inter, CMA Inter, ACCA, CIA (Pursuing), or MBA (Finance) are an added advantage.
Experience
- Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 1 year of experience in Internal Audit, Finance, Accounts, or Manufacturing are encouraged to apply.
Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of accounting, auditing, and financial reporting principles.
- Understanding of internal controls and risk management concepts.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to manufacturing plants and warehouses when required.
Preferred Knowledge
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and inventory processes.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP.
- Knowledge of MS Office, particularly advanced Excel.
- Awareness of audit standards, corporate governance, and statutory compliance.
- Understanding of inventory control, procurement, stores, and production processes in a manufacturing environment.
Working Conditions
- Office and manufacturing plant environment.
- Periodic travel to plant locations and warehouses.
- Occasional extended working hours during audit assignments or financial closing periods.
