Junior Accountant

Job Requirements

• Education: BA Degree in Accounting, Accounting & Finance, or related discipline.

• Experience: 0–2 years of accounting experience.

• Department: Finance & Accounting

• Reports To: Senior Accountant / Finance Manager

• Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

• Employment Type: Full-time

Duties and Responsibilities

• Record daily financial transactions, petty cash disbursements, and journal entries into the accounting software.

• Prepare payment vouchers, sales invoices, and official receipts supported by complete audit documentation.

• Assist with monthly tax filings (VAT, Withholding Tax, Payroll Tax) and perform regular bank reconciliations.

• Maintain orderly, accessible financial document archives, receipts, and audit trail records.

• Support senior finance staff during monthly closures and external audit preparation.

Skills & Competencies

• Basic knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws, reporting standards (IFRS), and financial compliance procedures.

• Familiarity with accounting software (Peachtree/Sage, ERP systems) and proficiency in MS Excel.

• High ethical standards, numerical accuracy, and meticulous attention to detail.
