HEAD OF FINANCE

Sinopia Import & Export PLC is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Finance for immediate employment in Addis Ababa.

Sinopia operates across two major business areas:

• Import, supply and installation of water pumps, solar systems and solar-powered water pumping solutions; and

• World Trade Center Addis Ababa, focused on trade-related services and the development of a state-of-the-art real estate project.

The Role

The Head of Finance will serve as the senior finance executive responsible for both Sinopia Import & Export PLC and World Trade Center Addis Ababa, providing overall leadership to the finance and accounting function across the Company’s business activities.

Reporting directly to the CEO/General Manager, the Head of Finance will work closely with senior management on financial performance, liquidity, investment planning, project finance and major business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.

• Oversee accounting, treasury, cashflow and working-capital management.

• Ensure timely and accurate financial statements, tax compliance, statutory reporting and audits.

• Manage financial aspects of imports, foreign-currency requirements, supplier obligations and landed costs.

• Establish and maintain strong financial controls, policies and procedures.

• Monitor project budgets, costs, commitments, cash requirements and financial performance, including the World Trade Center Addis Ababa development.

• Provide senior management with timely financial analysis, forecasts and advice to support business, investment and financing decisions.

• Support financial evaluation and planning for major investments, projects and business initiatives.

• Lead, supervise and develop the finance and accounting team.

• Coordinate effectively with banks, auditors, tax authorities and other external stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Qualification & Experience

• BA Degree or above in Accounting, Finance or a related field.

• Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience, preferably including at least 3 years in a senior finance leadership position.

• Strong knowledge of Ethiopian taxation, financial reporting, accounting and regulatory requirements.

• Proven experience in budgeting, cash-flow management, financial analysis and internal controls.

• Experience in import/trading, project finance, construction or real estate is highly desirable.

• Strong Excel and accounting/ERP system skills.

• IFRS knowledge and professional qualifications such as ACCA/CPA are an advantage.

• Strong leadership, commercial judgment, analytical, communication and problem-solving abilities.
