Purpose of the Job

The purpose of the job is to lead and oversee all Electrical & Automation maintenance operations within the glass factory to ensure system reliability, safety, and efficiency. The role involves supervising maintenance activities, troubleshooting electrical & automation issues, and implementing preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize equipment performance. The head ensures strict compliance with safety regulations, LOTO procedure, manages inventory and resource allocation, and fosters collaboration with coworkers and subordinates to enhance operational effectiveness.

Major duties and Responsibilities

·       Planning, direction and management of the overall electrical and automation maintenance of the overall company’s assets

·       Coordinates electrical & automation maintenance activities to minimize downtime.

·       Ensures efficient operation of electrical systems, automation devices and systems, machinery, and equipment.

·    Monitoring the proper inspections and testing of automation equipment and diagnoses and resolves issues related to SCADA, PLCs, sensors, HMIs, and networked systems ensuring reliability.

·       Assuring backups for each system in the plant in regular interval and keep in safe area for any troubleshooting.

·       Establishes maintenance schedules and assign tasks to technicians.

·       Develops SPOs, WI, procedures, policies and inspection checklists for the electrical & automation Maintenance

·       Diagnose electrical & automation faults and implement timely solutions.

·     Collaborates with technical teams to resolve complex electrical & automation problems and implements corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.

·   Develops and enforce preventive maintenance schedules for electrical & automation systems and conducts routine inspections to identify potential risks and malfunctions.

·      Conduct risk assessments and implement hazard control measures and ensure adherence to safety guidelines, industry regulations and maintenance procedures to enhance system efficiency.

·    Oversees procurement and stock management of electrical components and optimizes resource utilization to prevent shortages or excess inventory.

·       Maintain documentation of electrical parts, tools, and equipment usage.

·       Prepares the departmental KPIs and evaluate the maintenance team according in a regular interval.

·    Leads, supports and promotes a strong safety culture among team members through training, communication, and enforcement of safety procedures.

·   Conducts periodic employee performance appraisals and provides reasonable feedback to ensure further improvements in future performance.

·       Ensures that strategies, policies, procedures, plans, annual targets, etc. are clearly and timely disseminated to employees under his/her supervision.

·       Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
