Job Title: General Maintenance Technician
Role Purpose
A General Maintenance Expert ensures facility reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance by shifting operations from reactive repairs to proactive care. Operating across electrical, mechanical, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC), and plumbing systems, troubleshoot failures, execute routine inspections, and manage asset health to maximize up time, reduce long-term costs, and protect physical investments.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Routine & Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, servicing, and scheduled maintenance on building infrastructure, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting & Repairs: Diagnose mechanical, electrical, or plumbing and execute timely repairs or component replacements.
- Emergency Response: Address urgent facility hazards, equipment breakdowns, and immediate maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
- Inventory & Vendor Coordination: Manage spare parts, track maintenance tools, and oversee external contractors for specialized repairs.
- Safety & Code Compliance: Ensure all maintenance operations adhere to occupational health, safety regulations, and building codes.
- Follow up on utility contracts and Payment

Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Required Educational Qualification
- TVET graduate (Electricity, Electromechanical)
Minimum Required Work Experience and Skills
- Above 5-8 years of experience, Special Training related to building Facility management
Competency Required
Core Competencies
- Multi-skilled maintenance professional dedicated to optimizing facility uptime and infrastructure longevity Knowledge of maintenance and repair procedures.
- Expertly inspects, diagnoses, and repairs complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing systems while mitigating safety hazards, managing spare parts, and preventing costly operational disruptions.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with various stakeholders
Technical Competencies
- Systematic Maintenance: Drives proactive inspection schedules across core trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical) to eliminate emergency repairs.
- Rapid Incident Response: Diagnoses equipment failures quickly to restore
