Job Description

Position — Finance Manager
Duty station: Ayat, Addis Ababa · Employment: Permanent, full time · Experience: 3–5 years
Purpose of the role
To run the finance function of a fast-growing import and distribution company — keeping the books accurate, the cash flowing, the banks moving and management informed.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain complete, accurate and timely accounting records; produce monthly financial statements and a management dashboard.
- Plan and manage cash flow and working capital; run collections and credit control; manage payables to principals and suppliers.
- Handle bank relationships end-to-end: facilities, letters of credit, foreign-currency applications and import financing documentation.
- Support costing and pricing: landed-cost calculations, margin analysis by product line, and discount/credit rules with Marketing and Tenders.
- Ensure full tax and statutory compliance (VAT, withholding, profit tax, pension) and lead the annual audit.
- Build simple, reliable finance processes and controls for a growing team: petty cash, approvals, stock-finance reconciliation.
Requirements
Qualifications & experience
- BA or MA in Accounting (ACCA or IFRS exposure an advantage).
- 3–5 years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in import, trading or pharmaceutical distribution.
- Hands-on experience with Ethiopian bank LC and foreign-exchange processes; strong Excel and accounting-software skills (e.g. Peachtree/Sage, QuickBooks).
Personal profile
- Accurate, fast and organised; discreet and of unquestionable integrity; communicates numbers clearly to non-finance colleagues.
