Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Export Trade & Agricultural Procurement Manager to lead end-to-end export operations and direct country-wide agricultural sourcing. In this role, you will oversee contract negotiation, international sales execution, trade compliance, and supplier relationships across Ethiopia’s agricultural value chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Export Operations & Execution: Lead international sales contracts, LC negotiation, shipping documents (CAD, BL, Certificates of Origin), and customs export clearing in accordance with Ethiopian NBE and Ministry of Innovation/Trade regulations.
  • Agricultural Commodity Procurement: Strategize and execute direct sourcing of key agricultural commodities (e.g., oilseeds, pulses, coffee, spices) from primary markets, unions, and commercial farming partners.
  • Supplier & Partner Management: Build long-term relationships with local farmers, aggregators, and logistics providers to ensure product traceabilty, supply security, and competitive purchasing.
  • Quality Assurance & Standards: Oversee product quality inspection, grading, standard adherence (ECX, ISO, Phytosanitary requirements), and warehousing before export shipment.
  • Market Intelligence & Sales Growth: Monitor international market price trends, identify strategic buyer opportunities in target regions (Europe, Middle East, Asia), and drive export volume growth.

Requirements

Job Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Agribusiness, International Trade, Economics, Business Administration, or related fields.
  • Experience: 5–8 years of proven experience in agricultural export management and direct field procurement in Ethiopia.
  • Technical Knowledge: Deep expertise in Ethiopian export-import regulations, National Bank of Ethiopia (NBE) forex guidelines, INCOTERMS, and shipping documentation.
  • Skills: Strong contract negotiation, inventory management, supplier relations, and fluent command of English and Amharic.
