Job Description – EV After-Sales & Electrical/Electronic Executive

Job Title: Executive – EV After-Sales & Electrical/Electronics

Location: Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Employment Type: Full-Time

Department: After-Sales / Service

Reporting To: Head – After-Sales / Country Head

Position Overview

We are looking for an Electrical & Electronics professional to support the after-sales operations of our Electric Vehicles (EVs) in Ethiopia.

The candidate should have practical experience in the Electrical & Electronics industry and a good understanding of electrical systems, electronic components, wiring, controllers, sensors, batteries and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

EV Electrical & Electronic Troubleshooting

  • Diagnose electrical and electronic problems in EVs.
  • Troubleshoot issues
  • Identify root causes of electrical/electronic failures.
  • Guide technicians in systematic fault diagnosis and rectification.
  • Use multimeters, thermal testers, diagnostic tools and other electrical testing equipment.

EV After-Sales Support

  • Provide technical support to dealers and service centres.
  • Assist technicians in resolving difficult electrical/electronic complaints.
  • Support field troubleshooting and breakdown cases.
  • Coordinate with the technical team/manufacturer for unresolved technical issues.
  • Maintain records of recurring technical problems.
  • Recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Battery & Charging System Support

  • Support diagnosis of EV battery-related complaints.
  • Check battery voltage, connections and related electrical parameters.
  • Support BMS-related troubleshooting.
  • Assist in identifying charging-related problems.
  • Diagnose charger, charging socket, cable and related electrical issues.
  • Ensure proper safety procedures are followed during battery and high-voltage system work.

Field Support

  • Visit dealers, workshops and customer locations when required.
  • Investigate major or repeated vehicle complaints.
  • Support technical campaigns and product improvement activities.
  • Assist during new EV/product launches.
  • Conduct technical inspections and service audits.

Spare Parts & Technical Coordination

  • Identify electrical/electronic spare-parts requirements.
  • Coordinate with the spare-parts team for availability of critical components.
  • Identify fast-moving and critical electrical components.
  • Maintain a list of recurring failed components.
  • Provide technical input for spare-parts planning.

Technical Reporting

Prepare regular management reports related to service.

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma / Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field. Preferably having knowledge of EV.
  • Practical experience in the Electrical & Electronics system.
  • Experience with electrical testing and troubleshooting equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, wiring and electronic components.
  • Experience in EVs will be a strong advantage.
  • Experience in automotive after-sales/service will be added advantage
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel and basic reporting tools.

Candidate Profile

The candidate should be:

  • Technically strong and hands-on
  • Good at fault diagnosis and problem-solving
  • Comfortable working with electrical/electronic equipment
  • Able to read wiring diagrams and circuit diagrams
  • Comfortable using a multimeter and other testing equipment
  • Willing to travel to dealers and customer locations
  • Good at explaining technical problems to non-technical people
  • Patient and systematic in troubleshooting
  • Good at maintaining technical records
  • Able to work independently
  • Customer-oriented and service-focused

EV experience is preferred, but candidates from the Electrical & Electronics industry with strong practical troubleshooting experience can also be considered and trained on EV-specific systems.
