Position: Electrical Engineer
Work Location: Oromia Region / Somali Region / sidama
Travel Requirement: Frequent travel within project areas (with travel allowance)
Salary: Negotiable based on experience and qualifications, starting around ETB 60,000
Employment Type: Full-time
Key Responsibilities:
l Interpret and draft electrical drawings using AutoCAD and related tools;
l Supervise and perform installation of electrical components in solar microgrid and off-grid systems;
l Conduct on-site wiring, cable laying, inverter/battery setup, and system commissioning;
l Manage electrical testing, troubleshooting, and technical problem-solving during installation;
l Support operation and maintenance (O&M) of photovoltaic microgrid systems;
l Monitor system performance, manage fault reports, and implement corrective actions;
l Collaborate with civil and construction teams to ensure electrical works align with structural designs.
Job Requirements
l Bachelor's degree or master’s in electrical engineering or a related field;
l Solid understanding of electrical fundamentals, PV system architecture, and microgrid components;
l Proficient in reading and drafting electrical diagrams
l Skilled in using AutoCAD and similar design tools;
l Hands-on experience with solar power systems and electrical installation is essential;
l Strong English communication skills (listening, speaking, reading, and writing);
l Able to communicate fluently in Amharic or Oromo (other local languages are a plus);
l High sense of responsibility, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under challenging conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
l Experience in house/building construction or civil coordination;
l Able to read and understand civil construction drawings;
l Practical problem-solving skills and strong hands-on abilities;
l Prior involvement in rural electrification or solar microgrid projects.
