About Us: For over two decades, Betsegah MCHC has been a trusted cornerstone of premium maternal and pediatric healthcare in Addis Ababa. Operating from our recently relocated and expanded facility near Gurd Shola, we are dedicated to blending advanced medical science with elite, patient-centered hospitality.
Position Overview: We are seeking a reliable, safety-conscious, and professional Driver to manage transport operations for our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing safe, timely, and comfortable transportation for staff, patients, and organizational materials, maintaining vehicle upkeep, and ensuring strict compliance with road safety and facility policies.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily Transport Operations: Safely operate organization vehicles—specifically Toyota HiAce minibuses—to transport healthcare personnel, administrative staff, patients, and official supplies according to scheduled daily routes and on-demand calls.
- Vehicle Upkeep & Maintenance: Perform routine daily vehicle inspections (checking oil levels, tire pressure, brakes, coolant, and fuel) before and after trips. Keep the vehicle clean, hygienic, and well-maintained at all times. Carry out minor roadside repairs such as changing tires, fixing light, greasing etc.
- Logistics & Procurement Support: Assist administrative and store teams with picking up and delivering administrative supplies, medical equipment, laboratory samples, or documents between facilities and external vendors.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance: Strictly observe all Ethiopian traffic laws, road safety regulations, speed limits, and internal transport protocols. Ensure all passengers wear seatbelts and adhere to safety guidelines.
- Reporting & Logbook Management: Maintain accurate daily trip logbooks, recording mileage, fuel consumption, routes taken, and passenger details. Promptly report any mechanical issues, accidents, or maintenance needs to the administrative office.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: High School Diploma ( 8th or 10th grade complete) or TVET certification.
- Licensure: Valid Grade 3 (Public 1) or equivalent Driving License in Ethiopia.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 1-3 years of proven experience as a professional driver for a medical center, company, organization, or hotel/hospitality sector.
- Mandatory requirement: Extensive experience and high familiarity with operating and handling Toyota HiAce minibus vehicles in Addis Ababa.
- Skills:
- Excellent driving record with a strong commitment to passenger safety and road rules.
- Basic knowledge of vehicle mechanics and routine troubleshooting for minibuses.
- Strong punctuality, reliability, and professional customer service skills when interacting with patients and staff.
- Good communication skills in Amharic (basic English is an added advantage).
