Job Summary

The Cost Accountant is responsible for collecting, analyzing, monitoring, and reporting all costs related to company operations and individual jobs. The role ensures accurate job costing, supports budgeting and financial planning, improves cost efficiency, and provides management with reliable financial information for decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare and maintain accurate job cost records.
- Monitor and reconcile Work in Progress (WIP) accounts.
- Allocate direct and indirect costs to the appropriate jobs and cost centers.
- Analyze job profitability and prepare monthly Job Profitability Reports.
- Perform cost variance analysis by comparing actual costs against budgets and estimates.
- Review freight, customs, transportation, packing, storage, and other operational costs to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare monthly cost reports and present findings to management.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend improvements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Coordinate with Operations, Procurement, Sales, and Finance teams to ensure complete and accurate cost information.
- Assist internal and external auditors by providing required cost documentation and explanations.

- Timeliness of Monthly Cost Reports.
- Accuracy of WIP Reconciliation.
- Cost Variance Analysis Quality.
- Improvement in Job Profitability.
- Reduction of Cost Errors and Audit Findings.
- Compliance with Company Policies and Procedures.

 Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• Professional certifications such as ACCA, CMA, or CPA are an advantage.

Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cost Accounting or Management Accounting.

• Experience in Logistics, Freight Forwarding, Relocation, or Supply Chain companies is highly preferred.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles.

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

• Experience with Sage 50 or other ERP systems.

• Strong communication and reporting skills.

• High attention to detail and accuracy.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
