Job Description

Position Overview / Scope of Role:

The Corporate Planning & Performance Monitoring Officer supports the Corporate Office in establishing and maintaining an integrated Group Planning, Performance Management, and Monitoring System covering GAG and its subsidiary companies.

The position serves as a critical link between approved strategy, operational planning, execution, performance monitoring, reporting, and management follow-up. The role is responsible for translating approved plans into measurable performance requirements, monitoring Plan versus Actual performance, identifying execution gaps and overdue actions, and providing timely, reliable, and decision-oriented performance information to management.

The position will have particular exposure to the Group's Turnaround, Stabilization and Growth Program, Corporate Transformation Program, Annual Operational Plan implementation, and forthcoming Strategic Plan, with strong emphasis on practical understanding of business and manufacturing operations.

Top Roles and Responsibilities:

Annual Operational Plan Implementation

  • Consolidate approved operational plans and budgets of GAG subsidiary companies.
  • Translate approved plans into measurable monthly, quarterly, and annual performance requirements.
  • Establish and maintain Plan versus Actual performance monitoring systems.
  • Monitor revenue, sales, collection, production, capacity utilization, costs, profitability, cash flow, and other critical business performance indicators.
  • Track implementation of approved operational initiatives and action plans.
  • Identify significant performance deviations and analyze their underlying causes.
  • Follow up corrective actions with responsible management and maintain a consolidated Group action tracker.

Turnaround, Stabilization & Growth Program Monitoring

  • Monitor stabilization priorities, milestones, and critical actions across subsidiary companies.
  • Track key business continuity and operational performance indicators.
  • Monitor critical areas including production continuity, raw material availability, sales, collection, working capital, cost, and cash flow.
  • Maintain RAG-based monitoring of stabilization actions and performance.
  • Identify emerging operational and financial risks requiring management attention.
  • Escalate significant performance gaps and overdue corrective actions.
  • Provide timely performance information to support management intervention and corrective decisions.

Corporate Transformation Monitoring

  • Translate transformation priorities into measurable milestones, deliverables, and monitoring requirements.
  • Establish and maintain KPI/OKR tracking mechanisms for approved transformation initiatives.
  • Monitor progress against transformation milestones and agreed deliverables.
  • Track implementation of management systems, policies, processes, controls, and organizational improvements.
  • Identify implementation delays, dependencies, risks, and accountability gaps.
  • Ensure transformation initiatives remain aligned with stabilization and operational priorities.

Strategic Planning Support

  • Support the Corporate Planning function in the development and implementation of the Group's Strategic Plan.
  • Collect and analyze business, operational, financial, market, and performance information required for strategic planning.
  • Support the translation of strategic priorities into measurable objectives, initiatives, milestones, and performance requirements.
  • Assist in monitoring strategic plan implementation and identifying deviations requiring management attention.

Performance Management & Reporting

  • Develop and maintain consolidated Group performance dashboards.
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual performance reports.
  • Maintain RAG reporting, performance thresholds, and KPI/OKR monitoring systems.
  • Monitor achievement against approved performance requirements.
  • Support cascading of approved objectives and targets through the appropriate management levels.
  • Prepare concise management performance briefs covering key achievements, major deviations, critical constraints, root causes, corrective actions, responsible persons, and required management decisions.
  • Ensure performance reports are analytical, accurate, timely, and decision-oriented rather than merely descriptive.
  1. Management Coordination & Action Follow-Up
  • Coordinate with subsidiary GMs and relevant managers to obtain accurate and timely performance information.
  • Follow up implementation of agreed management actions and corrective measures.
  • Maintain the Group's master action and performance tracker.
  • Identify cross-functional dependencies affecting performance.
  • Coordinate with Corporate Finance, HR, Operations, Marketing, Procurement, IT, and other functions where performance information cuts across functions.
  • Support weekly and monthly management performance review sessions.
  • Ensure agreed actions are followed through to closure.
  1. Business & Manufacturing Performance Analysis
  • Analyze operational performance of manufacturing and other operating businesses.
  • Monitor production planning, capacity utilization, productivity, material availability, inventory, sales, distribution, cost, profitability, and cash flow performance.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and their potential impact on business performance.
  • Connect operational performance with financial and commercial results.
  • Provide management with practical analysis and recommendations based on business realities.

Data Analysis & Performance Systems

  • Maintain accurate and reliable performance databases and reporting records.
  • Develop Excel-based analytical tools, dashboards, and monitoring templates.
  • Validate performance information received from subsidiary companies and identify inconsistencies or gaps.
  • Improve the quality, consistency, and uniformity of Group performance reporting.
  • Support the institutionalization of standardized KPI, RAG, reporting, and performance-monitoring systems.

Institutionalization & Continuous Improvement

  • Support the development and standardization of Group planning and performance-monitoring processes.
  • Promote consistent reporting formats, definitions, timelines, and performance measurement practices across subsidiaries.
  • Identify weaknesses in existing planning and monitoring processes and recommend improvements.
  • Support the transition toward a professional, integrated, and data-driven management system.

Performs other related duties as directed.

Requirements

Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Management, Planning, Finance, or other related fields.
  • Master's Degree is highly preferred, particularly in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration, Management, or related fields.

Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of direct and relevant professional experience in corporate planning, business planning, performance monitoring, management reporting, performance management, or related functions.
  • Proven practical experience in KPI development and monitoring, Plan versus Actual analysis, performance reporting, and management dashboards.
  • Practical exposure to manufacturing, private-sector business operations, or diversified business groups is highly preferred.
  • Experience working directly with senior management and multiple business units is an advantage.
