Coffee Washing Operation Head

Job Purpose:- To ensure the production of washed and dry quality coffee delivery following the most efficient production method, strict protocol and the least cost combination of inputs and enhance the profitable growth of the corporate.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• proposes budgets for supplies, materials or human resources needed for coffee washing process to ensure that materials, labor, or equipment are used efficiently to meet production targets.

• Ensures all purchased cherries are up to the agreed quality standard and delivered to the stations in time.

• Collaborates with Quality Control Expert, develops end to end coffee washing process tracking or quality control systems.

• Ensure the staff are well trained, motivated, and compensated for their work.

• Provides a safe workplace for by ensuring all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies and procedures and by adhering to the country’s safety requirements.

• Oversees the sorting process that all foreign objects (such as small stones or sticks) are removed from the cherry.

• Ensures the washing channel is clean before washing coffee and removing any dirt and parchment from previous washing.

• Ensure the skin drying tables are covered with a roof and are not exposed to direct sunlight.

• Follows up all delivered coffee is properly weighed and recorded on a slip.

• Follows up maintenance schedule to ensure machine performance and coordinates the procedures for equipment maintenance, including the replacement of machineries.

• Identifies opportunities and problem areas for targeted improvement by reviewing data or reports that show performances specifically productivity, waste, quality, and safety.

• Monitors cherries are pulped, and the coffee seeds’ mucilage are removed well, as per the standard.

• Supervises coffee is thoroughly washed with no remaining mucilage and gets dry until moisture content is reduced to the export standard.

• Identifies staff training needs and design development plans.

• Performs other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor

Job Requirements

Qualification and Skills:-

Education:

• BA or MA in Horticulture, agronomy, agriculture or related fields

Experience: 

• 5 years of relevant experience

Skills:-

• Strong interpersonal communication skills.

• Leadership Skills
