Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO)

The Chief Supply Chain Officer (CSCO) will lead and oversee the entire supply chain function of East African Holding, covering procurement (local and international), warehousing, and logistics (inbound and outbound). The role is responsible for shaping and executing the Group’s supply chain strategy, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with the Holding’s overall business agenda. The CSCO will provide high-level support and guidance to subsidiaries, driving integration, standardization, and excellence across the Group’s supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Leadership and Business Growth

• Develop and implement the Group’s supply chain strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.

• Drive transformation initiatives to optimize procurement, warehousing, and logistics functions.

• Establish policies, standards, and best practices across subsidiaries to ensure consistency and efficiency.

1. Procurement

• Oversee local and international purchasing activities, ensuring compliance, transparency, and value creation.

• Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to secure competitive terms.

• Monitor market trends and risks to ensure sustainable sourcing strategies.

1. Warehousing

• Direct warehouse operations, ensuring effective inventory management, safety, and cost control.

• Implement modern systems and processes to improve accuracy, speed, and efficiency.

• Standardize warehouse practices across subsidiaries to achieve operational excellence.

1. Logistics

• Manage inbound and outbound logistics, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of goods.

• Optimize transportation networks and distribution channels.

• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and sustainability standards.

1. Group Support & Collaboration

• Provide strategic and operational support to subsidiaries in supply chain planning and execution.

• Facilitate knowledge sharing and capacity building across the Group.

• Collaborate with other functional leaders to align supply chain with overall business priorities.

• Build high-performing teams across all functions;

• Promote a culture of accountability, performance, innovation, and collaboration;

• Drive succession planning and leadership development;

• Execute effective workforce planning and organizational capability development.

Job Requirements

Education

• Master’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

Experience

• Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in supply chain leadership, with exposure to procurement, warehousing, and logistics.

• Proven track record in developing and executing supply chain strategies in complex, multi-subsidiary organizations.

• Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.

• Experience in international procurement and global supply chain management
