Position: Agri-Business Coordinator – Dairy & Agriculture Business

Education: B.A./B.Sc. in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Agribusiness & Value Chain Management, Agricultural Management or a closely related field

Cheshire Services Ethiopia (CSE) is the Income Generating Wing of Cheshire Ethiopia, an organization with a long history of providing disability rehabilitation and related services in Ethiopia.
CSE is developing its Income Generating Activities into commercially sustainable business operations. The Dairy and Agriculture Business is one of the organization's strategic business areas, with the objective of developing productive agricultural assets into commercially viable enterprises whose income contributes to the sustainability of the organization's social and rehabilitation programs.
The Agribusiness Coordinator manages and optimizes the diverse agricultural production and commercial activities of the charity farm. This role bridges sustainable farming with community impact. You will oversee the production of milk, eggs, honey, cereals and fruits, alongside animal rearing and fattening programs. The goal is to maximize yields to feed vulnerable populations and generate surplus revenue to fund the organization's charitable programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Crop & Fruit Production Management
- Plan and supervise the cultivation, irrigation, and harvesting of cereals and fruits.
- Implement sustainable farming practices to improve soil health and crop yields.
- Manage pest control, fertilization, and crop rotation schedules.
- Livestock, Poultry & Apiary Oversight
- Coordinate daily operations for dairy (milk) and poultry (egg) production.
- Oversee animal rearing and intensive fattening programs for market readiness.
- Manage the apiary for optimal honey production and hive health.
- Ensure strict adherence to animal welfare, bio-security, and veterinary care standards.
- Supply Chain & Financial Administration
- Track farm inventory, including feed, seeds, fertilizers, tools, and veterinary supplies.
- Manage the farm’s production budget, monitoring expenses and cost-effectiveness.
- Coordinate the logistics of moving product from the farm to charity distribution centers or local markets.
- Community Engagement & Training
- Train and supervise farm laborers, local volunteers and community beneficiaries.
- Organize educational workshops on sustainable agriculture for local communities.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive and collaborative working environment on the farm.
Requirements
Required Professional Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in agribusiness, agricultural production, dairy, agricultural marketing, agricultural value chains, farm business management or a related sector.
- Demonstrated practical experience in agricultural or dairy business development.
- Experience in market identification, customer development and agricultural product marketing.
- Practical understanding of agricultural value chains.
- Experience working with buyers, suppliers, processors, traders, cooperatives or other agricultural-sector actors.
- Strong knowledge of animal fattening techniques, dairy management, and crop cycles.
- Experience in business planning, budgeting, market assessment and profitability analysis is highly desirable.
- Competencies: Budget management, basic data tracking, and excellent team leadership abilities.
