Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our financial management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), and utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to maintain accurate financial records and streamline hospital financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

•  IFRS Accounting & Reporting: Prepare, analyze, and present accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements strictly adhering to IFRS guidelines and local regulatory requirements.

•  ERP Management & Data Entry: Record daily financial transactions, general ledger entries, inventory movements, and patient billing records using the hospital's ERP software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Odoo, or specialized Hospital Management Systems).

•  Revenue & Expenditure Oversight: Reconcile daily hospital cash receipts, insurance claims, pharmacy inventory billing, vendor invoices, and petty cash transactions.

•  Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank and ledger reconciliations, identifying and resolving any discrepancies promptly.

•  Taxation & Compliance: Compute, prepare, and file periodic tax returns (VAT, withholding tax, payroll taxes) in compliance with national tax laws.

•  Audit Preparation: Assist internal and external auditors during annual audits by providing supporting documentation, schedules, and explanations.

•  Budgeting & Cost Control: Assist management in annual budget preparation, variance analysis, and monitoring department-level operational expenses.

Qualifications & Requirements

•  Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance. Professional certification (ACCA, CPA, or equivalent) is highly desirable.

•  Experience: 2 years above professional accounting experience, ideally within a healthcare setting, hospital, or pharmaceutical company.

•  Technical Knowledge: Proven expertise and practical working knowledge of IFRS.

•  Systems Experience: Hands-on experience operating enterprise-grade ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, ERPNext, Odoo, or equivalent modules).

•  Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
