Position: Intermediate Accountant

Destiny Service PLC is looking for a detail-oriented, analytical, and results-driven Intermediate Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting financial reporting, ensuring tax compliance, and contributing to efficient financial operations. 

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate accounting records and general ledger accounts.

• Prepare journal entries, vouchers, invoices, and financial documents.

• Perform monthly bank, cash, and account reconciliations.

• Assist with monthly and annual financial closing procedures.

• Prepare financial reports, trial balances, and account analyses.

• Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable.

• Support payroll-related accounting and statutory deductions.

• Prepare applicable tax declarations and ensure timely compliance.

• Assist with budgeting, cash-flow monitoring, and financial analysis.

• Maintain organized, audit-ready financial documentation.

• Support internal and external audits.

• Identify discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.

Job Requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

• Working knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and regulations.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Office

• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems.

• Strong analytical, organizational, and numerical skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.

• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Fluency in English is mandatory.

Preferred

• Experience with tax reporting, reconciliations, and audit preparation.

• ACCA, CPA, or other professional accounting certification is an advantage.

• Experience in a fast-paced corporate environment is preferred.
