 Job Position title:   Accountant

The job position accountant is responsible under the guideline given to perform financial and accounting activities. Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts.

• Perform financial and accounting activities of the organization based on given guidelines,

• Compile and analyze financial information to prepare entries to accounts,

• Prepare general journal entries, reconciling accounts, reviewing contracts for compliance with terms and conditions or accounts for consistency with generally accepted accounting principles,

•  Review and process expense vouchers, invoices, and other fiscal documents for payment,

• Reconcile various financial reports and other data concerning fiscal operations,

• Determine payroll requirements; maintains payroll data; prepares and processes monthly payrolls,

• Record, summarize and classify the Company’s financial transactions with in the frame work of organization’s policies, procedures and standards,

• Prepare financial status reports and studies when required,

• Assist in the development and implementation of the accounting system to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and procedures,

• Monitor and maintain appropriate bank balances, reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies,

• Verify that transactions comply with the Company’s financial policies and procedures,

• Prepare, verify, and process invoices and coding payment documents,

• Analyze financial information to prepare financial statements including monthly and annual accounts,

• Perform other related duties and activities given by immediate supervisor as required.

Job Requirements

Job Requirements:  BA degree in accounting and 4 years of working experience

Additional Skills:

• advanced computer skills, particularly knowledge of MS Word and MS excel, as well as other financial software packages.

• Practical experience using Peachtree accounting software

• Excellent knowledge of Ethiopian tax laws and financial regulations

• Excellent in written and verbal communication skills.
